Keeper League Rules and Regulations
Keeper League est. 2010
1.0
Each manager can keep up to 4 players from their previous season roster.
1.1
All players who are not assigned as a keeper will be dropped back into the draft pool.
1.2
Each manager must submit their keeper players to the League Commissioner one week prior to the current season's draft.
2.0
A manager can select a player as a keeper for a maximum of 4 consecutive seasons.
Note: Managers should refer to the Keepers page to see which players have reached their 4 year keeper maximum. |
2.1
When a keeper player reaches the 4 consecutive season max, they will be dropped back into the draft pool at the end of the year, if they remain on the same roster at season's end.
Note: Managers should refer to the Keepers page to see which players have reached their 4 year keeper maximum. |
3.0
When a keeper player that has been dropped back into the draft pool due to the 4 consecutive season maximum (Rule 2.0), that specific player's consecutive season count is reset to zero for any team (explained in detail in Rule 3.1).
3.1
When a keeper player has been dropped back into the draft pool for extending the 4 year keeper maximum, the player is then fair game for anyone to acquire via draft. Therefore, no matter what team the player is drafted to, even if it's the same team that just dropped the player back into the draft pool, the consecutive season count is reset.

Keeper Player Draft Positioning
4.0
Keeper players are arranged to be drafted in the beginning rounds of the draft, or any earlier rounds where managers have picks to assign a keeper.
Note: Exceptions apply: See Rules 4.1, 4.2, and 7.1 |
4.1
In the case where a team has more than one pick in a round through draft pick trading, where a keeper player is scheduled to be drafted, the manager's own pick will be the keeper player and any extra pick(s) will be from the draft pool.
4.2
Through draft pick trades, if a manager has traded their own picks away and has acquired one or more picks in a round where they no longer have their own pick, and they have not yet drafted all of their assigned keepers, the first pick in that round defaults to a keeper pick and any other pick is from the draft pool.
Draft Position
5.0
The following season's draft position is determined by the final standings following the Field Series Playoffs (Championship Series between teams 1-6), in reverse order.
Note: See Rule 5.1 for Consolation Series exception |
5.1
The Consolation Series between the bottom 4 teams, that do not make the Field Series Playoffs, is the decider for who gets 1st Pick in the following season's draft.
7th Place: 1st pick (Consolation Champion) 8th Place: 2nd pick (Consolation Runner-Up) 9th Place: 3rd pick 10th Place: 4th pick The higher the team finishes in the Consolation Series, the better the draft position. |
6.0
The draft is set up in a snake style where the 1st pick in odd rounds will have the last pick in even rounds, and last pick in odd rounds will have the 1st pick in even rounds.
Not Active (NA) Player
7.0
Each manager can keep a player with a Not Active (NA) designation in addition to their 4 keeper players, as long as that player holds the NA status at time keeper players are approved.
7.1
The NA player will be positioned to be a last round draft selection in the current season's draft, rather than following the normal keeper guidelines and being drafted in the first rounds (Rule 4.0)
7.2
As long as the NA player being kept remains in a NA status, they will not accrue years towards the consecutive season keeper maximum (Rule 2.0) and can ultimately be kept for an infinite amount of seasons until they are made active.
7.2.1
If a active player is kept year-to-year, but then gains a NA status at the beginning of the current season:
7.3
When a team's NA player becomes active, if kept for the current season's draft, the former NA player must be kept as one the 4 active player keepers.
7.3.1
If the former NA player is kept as part of the 4 keeper players, that player can be kept for a 5 consecutive season maximum as opposed to the normal 4 consecutive season rules (Rule 2.0).
7.4
All NA player rules only apply when a NA player remains on the same roster for the duration of their year-to-year keeper guidelines. Once a NA player is not assigned as a keeper to the same roster from the previous season, that team's NA protection for that specific player is voided.
