I think I speak for most people when I say, debating the "best of" items is common place among friends, especially when you're just relaxing and maybe enjoying a few drinks. Debate is common place. We all formulate our own opinions on everyday subjects, and will usually go to great lengths to defend that stance. Born from hanging out with friends, enjoying a few drinks, and taking about absolutely nothing important, I present to you, Draft Day.
Draft Day is a three-person draft between myself and my two best friends. We choose one subject, and then draft items within that subject that we feel are the best. It is a four round (Mt. Rushmore style), snake draft. For those unaware of anything fantasy sports, a snake draft is designed that every other round goes in the opposite direction (i.e. last pick in one round, gets first pick in the next).
The goal of the draft is to assemble the best team of four picks, and we will put it to the people to determine who assembled the best team.

Team Recaps
Dan | With the first overall selection, Dan drafted Kitty Foreman (That 70's Show). Kitty is a fun mom who loves the drink, doesn't she Schatzi, yes she does. With his second selection, at the end of the second round, an obvious top pick, Clair Huxtable (The Cosby Show) was still on the board. An accomplished lawyer, and mother of five makes her a great pick. Dan finished off his draft with Lois (Malcolm in the Middle), who can withstand the hardest boys, and the manipulative, alcoholic Lucille Bluth (Arrested Development). |
Mike | In the second draft position, Mike turned in strong selections. To start, Lorelai Gilmore (Gilmore Girls) was a young mother who managed to raise a morally sound young lady. Claire Dunphy (Modern Family) is a perfectionist mother of three. Originally a stay-at-home mother, before balancing work and home life. In the third round, Mike drafted the only animated mother by selecting Linda Belcher (Bob's Burgers). One of Mike's strongest picks came in his last pick by selecting Tami Taylor (Friday Night Lights). |
Bryan | Drafting out of the third position, Bryan drafted a couple favorites from the 1990's. In the second round, he selected Jill Taylor (Home Improvement), and Amy Matthews (Boy Meets World) for his final pick. Both mothers know how to handle three children, Jill three boys, and for most of the series run, Amy with two boys and a girl, before having another boy in her older age. Bryan's first round selection was the witty Sofia Petrillo (Golden Girls), and a pull from the heart strings with the third round selection of Rebecca Pearson (This is Us). |
Final Verdict
Social media votes:
Dan Mike Bryan | 5 4 13 |
The 90's influence weighed heavy into this vote. Bryan's selections of Sofia Petrillo (Golden Girls), Jill Taylor (Home Inprovement), and Amy Matthews (Boy Meets World) were too much for the other selections. Overall, one can argue that the tandem of Dan's Kitty Foreman (That 70's Show) and Clair Huxtable (The Cosby Show) is the strongest one-two of the draft. Bryan took an early lead in the voting and did not look back. Dan fails to remain undefeated, and takes his first L of Draft Day. Bryan with his first win.
